GRANNIES SLEEP ON THE STREET TO WAIT FOR WATER AND BE THE FIRST IN LINE OR RISK NOT GETTING WATER SHOULD THE WATER RUN OUT BEFORE THEIR TURN.

As the country battles with the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, the government emphasis is on people washing their hands with water and soap and sanitation. 

However, some residents still faces challenges of basic service, living without running water. The residents of Enable area in GaSekororo village say they are living in appalling conditions, as their taps are broken. The only option they have is the water tank provided to the village. 

Residents has opted to sleep on the street where there is Jojo tanks to be first in line to get water.
At 6am one lady said she has been waiting for her turnt 4am but she hasn't gotten water yet because other people arrived early. "I woke up and my mom was not in her room, had to search for her only to find that she was sleeping next to Jojo tank" Said the daughter

A ward counselor was called to the scene to look at the ladies but was surprised that people sleep on the Jojo tank.
